Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.Johnston County Habitat for Humanity promotes home ownership with volunteers building houses in partnership with Johnston County residents in need of adequate housing.
![]() The Fred Smith Foundation Charity Challenge builds a house for Habitat for Humanity of Johnston County. The proceeds from the sale of the house will enable Habitat to build two more houses. Guided by the commitment to be a “Good Corporate Citizen” the Fred Smith Company started the Charity Challenge in 2001. Since its inception, it has built 4 houses for HFHJC.
